This Sunday, thousands of people will take to the streets in Ottawa for climate justice. Join the Ottawa Peace Assembly in marching for a climate justice rooted in peace, solidarity with Indigenous peoples, welcoming refugees, and a rejection of Islamophobia.
Gather at the Human Rights Monument at 12:30pm on Sunday, November 29 and then march to join the 100% Possible demo at City Hall for the 1pm climate rally.
PEACE AND CLIMATE JUSTICE NOT WAR AND CLIMATE CHAOS. IT’S 100% POSSIBLE.
War is one of the biggest contributors to climate change, but climate talks like the UN negotiations happening in Paris consistently leave loopholes for militarism large enough to drive a tank through. We need to connect the opposition to pipelines from Kandahar to Kitimat.
JOIN THE NO WAR NO WARMING CONTINGENT TO CALL FOR:
- a rejection of the Paris attacks being used to justify war, Islamophobia, and inaction on the climate crisis
- a just conversion to a carbon neutral war-free economy based on climate justice, a just transition from fossil fuel intensive industries to good green jobs, and a peaceful conversion of military industries to non-military production.
- respect for Indigenous peoples’ rights, including free, prior, informed consent.
- maintaining the commitment to bring 25,000 refugees into Canada by the end of this year
